Update Case Data

Hi All,

I had a case with some properties, we start collecting data from the filed.
After that I would to update some hidden properties but at this point ( matching
properties with case
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Mapping+Case+Properties+and+Completing+the+Import
) the hidden properties did not show in the list. If I click auto fill, it
will add new properties rather than update old values.

So what is the problem? Why not all properties appears at the list?
I am only see the properties saved at Case Management under "Save data to
the following case properties" option.

Thanks for your support!
Mahmoud

Hi Mahmoud,

That is the expected workflow. Before you can update a field it has to be
saved to the case or it has to be a completely new case property.
So you have to first save the hidden properties to the case before you can
update them.

Kind regards,

Hi Sam,
That's great thanks for your support!
Now I added the new properties to saved data place but the new properties
did not show up in the list of the proprieties to update. only I see the
list of properties I added before.
I made a new copy (Deploy a new version) but also did not appears at the
list.
Could you please help me to know why that?

Thanks for your support!

Hi Mahmoud,

Have you submitted data with those case properties yet? The case properties
will only appear if you have submitted data with those case properties.

See the "*Map Excel Headers to Case Properties" *section in our
documentation here:
