Unusual problem

Hi Everyone,

I have used CommCare to create an electronic logbook for clinical students.
The app requires them to clock-in for a session everyday and clock out
around lunch time. After lunch they clock in for a different session and
clock out at the end of the day. When clocked in for a session they are
suppose to fill skills forms or registers (depending on which session they
are clocked in for). These forms are in another module and only appear if
they clocked in for that session (Used case filtering to achieve this as
the case types of the modules differed as a result of the child case). I
have also created a child case from the clock in module so that supervisors
at the clinic can review the skill that they have done in a session and
sign off on them.

Recently i have had students report that when they log onto commcare the
next morning, their status will appear as clocked in, even though they have
clocked out for the session the day before. In some cases, it will say
that they are clocked into a session that was completed the previous
morning (and skips the last session that they completed). I have looked at
the form builder and case management thoroughly and could not find a
reason as to why it does this.

Another student said he managed to fix this problem by opening up that
clock out form in the saved forms and going to end of form, closing it and
it would automatically sync at that point and everything will return to
normal. Is it possible that forms that have not synced correctly could
cause this? Even when student have data available?

Other students have not had the same success with the solution above and
the rest have not had this issue at all. They all have the same tablets;
Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7". What could be causing the app to place them into
a session that was already completed?

Kind regards,
Ameera

Hi Ameera,

It sounds like this problem might be very specific to your application.
Would you mind using the "Report an Issue"
workflowhttps://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Bug+Reportsto
report the problem? We will be better able to look into it from there.

Thanks,
Amelia
