Trouble linking mother and child

Hello,

I am having some trouble linking my mothers and child from the one
household.

I have a household listing which is a repeat group- registering all people
within the household.

Within this group is a question which identifies whether a woman or child
is eligible for Anthropometric measurement. We plan to measure all women of
reproductive age and all children under 5 in the household. Meaning there
could be multiple women and children from the one household being measured.

Currently each household member is uniquely identified by an ID which is
created by the State/township/village/household + the repeat count from
within the repeat group.

I am not sure based ont his how to link each women registered within the
household to their child? Does anyone have any ideas?

Is there a way to display the previously registered household members, So
that when you register a child you can selected from that list who their
mother is?

Cheers,
Jess

Hi Jess,

It sounds like you might want to use child cases, which allows you to
create a ‘sub case’ or ‘child case’ from a ‘parent’ case in order to link
them.

Take a look at this Child Case
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Child+Cases Help
Site page, and see if that’s what you were envisioning. If so, you can find
further details on setting up Parent/Child selection on this page.

Best of luck, and let me know if you have any further questions.
