Submission error

Hi all,

I am receiving an error when submitting data as demo user in the Done
Kolera application of the PIH-Cholera domain: “Property name must be
unicode or str instance, not a date”

Can you help me understand what’s going on here?

Thanks!
Jon

Hey Jon,

The issue here was that you were using a date for the case_name, which was
confusing CommCare HQ. I’ve just deployed a patch allowing you to put
whatever there and have it be saved correctly, so this should work moving
forward.

Out of curiosity, what is the use case for storing dates as the case names?

thanks,
Cory

This is actually for a survey that is supposed to be filled out weekly, so the date of the submission is the best approximation of an identifier for the field. In reality, though, it should be a dual key with both date and locality as keys, but it doesn’t appear that this is supported in the UI.

Thanks,
Jon
