Query about Identification of a case

Dear Users

I have one questionnaire which has two pages.

One is having Patient Registration having

Site ID, Patient ID, Age of patient, Sex,

Second Page is having questions related to Laboratory Measures like Hb.

The simple way that i know is to include every question in one form of a
module.

But I don't want to do that. I want to do like,

First Form is for Registration

Second Form is for Laboraty Measures

And the Second Form show all available patient registered in first module
in list or in some linked manner.

I want to link second form to first one.

Please suggest
Thanks and Regards

Manoj

Hi, Manoj,

It sounds like you want to use case management to link two forms. I would
suggest going through the Application Building Tutorial Series on the
CommCare Help Site. It can be found here:
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Application+Building+Tutorial+Series

The third and fourth tutorials (Basic Case Management and Advanced Case
Management) walk through the process of linking together forms in extensive
detail.

Additional information can be found in the Case Configuration section:
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Case+Configuration

Hope this helps!

dear Users

I have three forms in a module in my application.

First Form Name: Demog having question ids ( Site, pid, gender, age, diagnosis
)
Second Form Name: Lab having question ids ( hb1, hb2, othtest )
Third Form Name: Hoxpitsl having question ids hbspec

As per the manual of case management , after designing of the form, I went
to First Form demog, and in its case management tab, I changed it to
Register a new case
In that I select two question Site and pid to make a case and hit save. I
want to see only two things to show in a list.

Then I went to second and third form and set it to Updates or close a case.

Here two areas to configure, one is load case properties and another is
save case properties.

Here is the my confusion, in the load case properties,

When I click on Case properties, text box, it shows me the Site and Pid,
but the questions are not displayed related to these and says not assigned.

If I select site, then question of site should come automatically or I am
wrong.
.
All this is Form level case management, when to configure, Case list at
module level.

Is there online support , where someone can see my application.

My need is to use Form 1 for registering a case and in the form second and
third, I see list of registered cases before starting the form.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Manoj,

I think the tutorial I recommended on the other thread will help with these
questions (here:
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Basic+Case+Management+Tutorial
)

If you run into an issue that you think is a bug or you just need extra
support, you can click the "Report an Issue" button (at the bottom of every
page in CommCareHQ). This will create a ticket for our support team with
information about your project.

Thanks,

Hi

Many Thanks to Amella for the documentation provided on case management
system. Now cases are being displayed before opening the form.

I have two more queries.

One:

Second.

How to get case variables in form export.

In my three forms, I have made case from the first form, using two
variables, namely Site and Pid

In second and third form, case displays and I can select the case and enter
second and third fform.

but during export of second and third form these case variable do not come.

I was thinking, it will come automatically in form export.

How to solve this issue?

Hello, Manoj,

In response to your questions:

1- In there a form submission limit or form export limit using community
version of commcare.
--> No, there is not a limit to form submissions or exports under the
community version. The only limit is in number of mobile workers, access to
specific software features, and level of support.

2- Case variables in form export
--> Variables will only show up in a case export if they have been saved to
the case as case properties. You can go to all of the forms you have
created and "save" any of the properties that you want to see in the case
export on the Case Management tab, and then make a new version of your
application. Once you start submitting data against the new version you
should start seeing those variables in your case export

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the mail and answers.
Definitely these are clearing doubts.
Refer to point no. 2, in this situation, I don't need to export form then,
In the case management, there are two sections, one is load case
properties, and another is save properties, so I need to put in the save to
case properties.

What is the difference between load and save, , any documentation or
explanation, would be great.

Thanks again and regards
Manoj

Hello, Manoj,

In response to your questions:

1- In there a form submission limit or form export limit using community
version of commcare.
--> No, there is not a limit to form submissions or exports under the
community version. The only limit is in number of mobile workers, access to
specific software features, and level of support.

2- Case variables in form export
--> Variables will only show up in a case export if they have been saved
to the case as case properties. You can go to all of the forms you have
created and "save" any of the properties that you want to see in the case
export on the Case Management tab, and then make a new version of your
application. Once you start submitting data against the new version you
should start seeing those variables in your case export

Hope this helps!

Hi

Many Thanks to Amella for the documentation provided on case management
system. Now cases are being displayed before opening the form.

I have two more queries.

One:

In there a form submission limit or form export limit using community
version of commcare.

Second.

How to get case variables in form export.

In my three forms, I have made case from the first form, using two
variables, namely Site and Pid

In second and third form, case displays and I can select the case and
enter second and third fform.

but during export of second and third form these case variable do not
come.

I was thinking, it will come automatically in form export.

How to solve this issue?
Thanks and Regards

Hi Manoj,

I think the tutorial I recommended on the other thread will help with
these questions (here:

If you run into an issue that you think is a bug or you just need extra
support, you can click the "Report an Issue" button (at the bottom of every
page in CommCareHQ). This will create a ticket for our support team with
information about your project.

dear Users

I have three forms in a module in my application.

First Form Name: Demog having question ids ( Site,
pid,gender,age,diagnosis )
Second Form Name: Lab having question ids ( hb1, hb2, othtest )
Third Form Name: Hoxpitsl having question ids hbspec

As per the manual of case management , after designing of the form, I
went to First Form demog, and in its case management tab, I changed it to
Register a new case
In that I select two question Site and pid to make a case and hit save.
I want to see only two things to show in a list.

Then I went to second and third form and set it to Updates or close a
case.

Here two areas to configure, one is load case properties and another is
save case properties.

Here is the my confusion, in the load case properties,

When I click on Case properties, text box, it shows me the Site and
Pid, but the questions are not displayed related to these and says not
assigned.

If I select site, then question of site should come automatically or I
am wrong.
.
All this is Form level case management, when to configure, Case list at
module level.

Is there online support , where someone can see my application.

My need is to use Form 1 for registering a case and in the form second
and third, I see list of registered cases before starting the form.

Thanks and Regards
Manoj

Hi, Manoj,

It sounds like you want to use case management to link two forms. I
would suggest going through the Application Building Tutorial Series on the
CommCare Help Site. It can be found here:
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Application+Building+Tutorial+Series

The third and fourth tutorials (Basic Case Management and Advanced
Case Management) walk through the process of linking together forms in
extensive detail.

Additional information can be found in the Case Configuration section:

First Form is for Registration

Second Form is for Laboraty Measures

And the Second Form show all available patient registered in first

Hello, Manoj,

This page has some basic information about case management as well as an
attached PowerPoint presentation:
https://help.commcarehq.org/display/commcarepublic/Case+Management

These portions of the tutorial may also be relevant:

In short, you want to save data to the case if you want to reference it in
other forms, update the field over time, or use the data in the case
export. Loading data is how you pull data into a form from another form, so
a variable/property must be saved from a form before it can be loaded into
another form.
