Problem with case import - only matching 10 cases

I'm having a problem with case import.

In a previous case import missing date values have been erroneously set as
'---' when they should just be blank.

I am trying to clear the '---' values as follows:

  1. I am doing a custom export of all cases
  2. I am taking this export and in Excel (2016 for the Mac) I am deleting
the cases that do not need correcting. This leaves me with 55 that do need
    correcting.
  3. I am clearing the contacts of the date cells that contain '---'
  4. I then save the file in xls format and try importing. The file I am
    trying to import is attached

When I import I get the message: '10 rows were matched and updated'. 55
should be matched.

I don't understand why this is when the info.case_id has not been changed
and came from the original export - so all the cases (55) should match not
just 10.

Your assistance would be appreciated.

Correction of missing dates format without retailer code v2.xls (23 KB)

This was solved by leaving an unchanged unique property in the import file
(retailer code). With this property in place the import proceeded as
expected.

I'm not sure why the process failed without doing this. Any ideas?

Hi Simon,

It's hard to say for sure. If you are able to give us the details steps you
took to get that message (by reporting an issue) either now or if you see
this message again, we would be happy to take a look!

Thanks,
Robin
