I am having a slight problem and I am wondering how to solve it.
Due to some staff turnover, I created three new usernames and transfered
cases to the new user names via commcareHQ. The new users have the same
phone numbers as the previous user.
Looking at case activity however, since the transfer none of the above
users have any cases. While doing the transfer on HQ, a highlighted error
report mentioning "out of range" popped up, but that the transfers were
complete.
Hope these cases aren't lost forever.
Thanks,
Michael

When you transfer a case to a new user, the cases will not show up in the
HQ activity reports as part of their activity reports until the user has
submitted at least one form for that case.
For example, if you transfer the pregnant woman anna from maya.eckley to
jamanti.kasde, only when jamanti.kasde submits a form about anna will anna
count as a case in the HQ case activity report. This is because if you
transferred 10 cases to jamanti, and jamanti had not yet modified/updated
those cases, on the report it would look like jamanti had very poor
activity rates. jamanti.kasde would have never modified/updated the case
so HQ would not know how to categorize the case in the activity report.
You can still see the cases assigned to a particular user by going to
"manage data" and selecting the new case owner. Make sure that your mobile
workers sync data on their phones so that their case lists are up-to-date
as well!
Hope this helps, let us know if we can provide further clarification, as it
can certainly be a bit confusing!

Just wanted to mention that we realize that this is not the behavior you
would expect and are planning on fixing this so it's not a requirement.
