Offline Export and Bulk Translations

Hi all, two quick questions:

  1. Is there anyway to export the data from a CommCareODK device for use on
    a local computer in cases where there is no connectivity so it is not
    possible to do this through the HQ server? The use case: An active case
    finding CommCare ODK application is used in a rural disconnected
    environment on multiple devices. Referred clients visit the clinic before
    the devices have been taken to an area with connectivity to sync with the
    HQ server. The clinic wants to use the visit data to help manage the
    referrals, but can only do this if all the devices are available at the
    clinic and if they know which device a client's visit was captured on. If
    it is possible to export and merge these on a local laptop, would be
    awesome.

  2. Is there a way to get the Bulk Translation export for all forms in an
    application rather than one form at a time?

Hi Jon,

  1. We don't fully support your workflow. But we now support something that
    might help: ability to dump unsent forms from an Android device to an
    external SD card, and later submit them from another device. This, in
    combination with case sharing between each CHW and a user at the clinic,
    may help support what you're trying to do without requiring CHWs to bring
    devices to the clinic.

  1. Unfortunately we don't do this now, but it's definitely something that
    we want to have eventually. To request a new feature you can use our
    Dimagi Uservoice (dimagi.uservoice.com) to post an idea. We actually
    already have this on there as a request, so you can vote for it if you
    like!
