Is it possible to display only month and year when using the date widget?
How can this be done?

As far as I know this is not currently supported on CommCare. You could
post the idea on Uservoice:

Alternatively you could create something similar in function by combining a
dropdown for month and an integer question for year, and then, if
necessary, using a hidden value to structure it into a date.

Hi Jeremy,
I'm trying to do something similar but I'm a little stuck. I created two
drop down menus, one for month and one for year. How do I convert this into
a date that I can reference on later forms?

You should be able to do this using the date() function here
