Our NGO is trying to use commcare for our MCH perinatal program, and was
wondering what is the maximum number for interviewees and variables
supported by Commcare. Our program covered 1,300 beneficiaries last term
and we are planning to scale up this year. Also, our paper-based
questionnaires consisted of 2,600 variables so building Commcare has been
bit challenging. If possible, I will like to know if any other
organizations had tried to register this many number of beneficiaries
before. Thanks!

1300-2600 beneficiaries would be a tenable number on CommCare ODK, but
would likely be too large for CommCare Nokia if you wanted to continue
tracking them over time.
2600 items in a single form in CommCare ODK may be possible, but you will
likely run into problems. My recommendation would be to split up the
collection process into multiple forms. You can use some filtering tricks
in CommCare to set your app up so only certain forms are visible for a
case, allowing you to, say, have a 10 part survey, and as each part is
filled out the section disappears from the list of parts to collect for a
beneficiary. This would also make it easier for users to fill out a survey
over time (or for multiple people to collect information about them), but
more complex to fill it out in one go.
