Least expensive phone for CommCare?

Hi all,

Do you have a recommendation for the least expensive phone that can run
CommCare? Is there anything cheaper than the Nokia 2700c that we know works?
Specifically, this will be for D-tree’s project with CARE in India, but
obviously useful to other projects as well.

Thanks,
Jon

the price point for commcare phones never seems to drop because nokia
discontinues the models so quickly and introduces better specced models in
their place. instead of getting the old model for cheaper, it just
disappears off the market. unless you want to dip into the used market, i
don’t think you’ll be finding commcare phones for under $80-90.

Natu had a 2690 that we tested commcare on and it seemed to work fine, but
the price point isn’t much lower than a 2700 and the screen resolution is
halfed.

Also, and this is a broader problem, note that Nokia is only going to ship
150 million more units according to their press releases, and that they
shipped close to 100 million or more in 2010. So, if they stick to 150
million, we could be seeing a shortage of S40 phones in the next few years.
