Keep an entry fix until the case is closed

Hello,

I am building an app to gather information from an enterprise development
program.
The system allows for 5 different commodities within the program itself,
but in order to avoid entry errors I would like to keep the commodity fixed
and hidden after the first form is completed. All other forms related to
that case will keep the selected commodity hidden until the case is closed.

Is it possible?

Can you clarify what you mean by "keep the commodity fixed and hidden"? Is
the commodity intended to be a case property or the case type? If so then
this should be easy - there's no requirement to display any case property
on subsequent forms and the case property will remain unchanged.
