Incomplete and saved forms naming

Hi there,

I'm looking for a way to name incomplete and saved forms with a relevant
name. Currently, only the form's name is showing in the list of incomplete
or saved forms. It would be helpful to show the patient details in the
title or sub-title in order to retrieve forms easily.
I know it's feasible in ODK
(Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting.) but it seems
that CommCare overrides the block of the xform, so I can't use the
instanceName field. Is there any other way to do this by any chance?

This functionality is needed when the consultation is paused as the patient
goes for tests and analyses (blood, urine, etc). The form is then saved as
incomplete and retrieved later when the patient comes back.
At the moment we don't use case management to keep things simple.

I appreciate your help,

Thanks,

Alex

Hey Alex,

Unfortunately there's no way to do this in CommCare at the moment. The type
of workflow you're describing is usually supported via case management in
CommCare and we generally discourage using incomplete forms as a core
workflow functionality. I would recommend looking into using cases with
follow up forms for the tests and analysis so that you can fully customize
the display attributes of the cases in the case list. Hopefully our tools
will help keep this simple!

Best,
Will
