How can I prevent a case property like ID from being the same for two cases?

Hi

I followed what was suggested in here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/General+Workflow+Suggestions
but unfortunately it did not work out
i added the instance to the xforms uploaded it again added the validation
rule using the proper question ID and property but still not working.
can anyone help me please .

Thanks
Hasan

Hello,

What is the incorrect behavior you're seeing? Providing much detail as
possible is helpful when debugging XML issues.

Using output values
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Hidden+Values+Tutorial+Part+4%3A+Displaying+an+Output
can
be helpful in debugging statements like this IE to display the value of "
count(instance('casedb')/casedb/case[@case_type='
MYCASETYPE'][case_property_for_id=/data/my_question_with_participant_id])"
from the example.
Thanks,
Will
