this is a reoccuring problem which we have: mobile workers enter data into
the phone and submit the form, and then they realise that they have
accidently entered something work. They can go to "saved forms" on the
phone and see the data entered, but they cannot edit it. Is there any way
to edit data on submitted forms and submit them again? I know that some of
your teams have an "edit form" which can be used, but this seems clunky to
have repeats of all forms as "edit forms" - is this the only way at present?
We currently use paper forms as back up, and the team enter the correct
data on paper and make a note in the "mistakes book"! This system is not
ideal though. Do people have other systems which they use to manage
mistaken entrys?
Having a way to clean up / edit forms on HQ is currently on our medium term
roadmap. This is not supported on mobile currently, and might be a long
time before we implement that.
Is your application using case management?
One common workflow is to create a single form that allows you to edit any
case property.
thanks,
Cory

An alternative would be to have a separate form that is just used to report
an error in data entry. Those "data entry error" forms could later be used
to correct the dataset in Excel or with a stats program.

OK, Thanks for the suggestions. I think the least complicated option is to
have a form which can be used to report errors - as that is essential what
we are currently doing on paper. And this can capture errors in any field,
rather than just case properties. I'll get building!
