Hello! I am looking to deploy an older version of my current application
for temporary viewing on Commcare. Can you advice on the best way to do
this?
My assumption is that if I hit deploy on an old version, a new QR or
application code will be generated (where would I go to find this?) and I
can then view. I assume I can then follow the same logic to reinstate
(deploy) the newer version. Please confirm and/or let me know if there is
an easier way to do this - e.g. accessing the old QR/application code for
temporary viewing.

Are you looking to install the app on your phone or looking to view the app
on CommCare HQ?
If you just want to install the old app onto your phone, you are correct
that you can deploy directly from the older build and install that app onto
the phone as usual. You'll need to clear the CommCare application data
first, since we don't currently support downgrading apps from inside
CommCare. You can then either update back to the current starred version or
you can install another build in the same manner.
If you want to return to an older version inside of CommCare HQ, you can
use the "revert" button. The general process for this looks like:
- Go to the "Deploy" page on HQ.
- Click "Make New Version" to create a build, and ensure that all of
your configuration and app details are captured. It's good to add a comment
to this build to denote that you are bookmarking it.
- Click the "Revert" button on the build you want to restore.
- View the app in its older form
- On the "Deploy" page again, click the "revert" button on the app that
you bookmarked in the second step.
- Your app will now be in its original state.
