Case upload emt

Hi,

I uploaded cases using Excel import, but forgot to check the box to create
a new case. The message I received was that no new cases were created.

So I re-uploaded the same file using the same case type, this time checking
the create cases box, and received the message that cases were created.

But when opening the form on the tablet, the case list is empty.

Is this the original upload was done incorrectly? How do I fix it since
re-uploading the same file did not work?

Would changing the case type and then re-uploading the same file work? Or
should I change the file name and just re-upload?

CommCare is so cumbersome... :frowning:

Thanks for your help!

Hi Lameez,

2 things to check:

  1. Did you make sure to press "Sync" on the mobile device after doing the
    case upload?
  2. Are the cases that you uploaded assigned to the mobile worker whom you
are logging in as (or to a case-sharing group
    https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Case+Sharing which
    that mobile worker belongs to?)

Hi Aliza,

Thanks for the advice. We've synced but its still not working. And we don't
use case sharing or user groups. Cases are assigned to individual users.

The problem seems to be the error in the first upload. Reading the advice
on this forum, I need to delete the cases completely before re-doing the
case upload.

But the advice seems outdated.

It suggests archiving the forms that created the cases by getting the
"submit history report" and filtering on "user unknown" cases. Except the
search results in zero cases detected.

So not sure what else to do....

Thanks,
Lameez

Hi Lameez,

In that case, can you report an issue from your project space via the steps
outlined here
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Bug+Reports, and
provide details as to what you've tried and what isn't working? Someone
will be able to look into it more completely that way.

Thanks,
Aliza
