Best Android device for CCODK?

Hey guys,

Do we have any likes, dislikes or preferences for CommCare on android? (i
din't see a confluence page for this - let me know if you have a good idea
where I should start one).

We will hopefully start testing it on:

  • Galaxy Y Pro (the one with the keyboard and an annoying OS)
  • Galaxy S
  • Galaxy Tab 10.1 inch (massive - a tad smaller than an A4)

Let us know what you're using.

Take care (or is that commcare? sorry, lame)
Kieran

Haven't tried the 10.1 inch, but I don't love how commcare runs on the Xoom
due to the screen size.

Amelia bought us a Galaxy Mini that I think we're using in some project,
and just from my limited experience testing with it, it's a nice little
device. The UI is much more responsive than other cheap android phones
I've used, and after our last round of UI updates, the screen fits pretty
well for small/medium amounts of text.

Hey,

We have info about supported phones, including recommended Android and
Nokia phones, here:
https://confluence.dimagi.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=4718838

We're using the mini in Kenya and Senegal, it seems to be a good
cost-effective choice. But in India we've been having good luck with the
Samsung Galaxy Y for Hindi font support.
