Bad Server Response

(Susana Benitez) #1

Hello there,
I am trying to login to CommCare on my Samsung tablet, but I keep getting a
message that there’s a bad server response. When I look at the details, it
says “CommCare had trouble processing the network response. Please try
again.” Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can solve this?

Thanks,
Susana

Hi Susana,

If this is the first time you have logged in you are trying to log in with
that mobile username on that device, the phone tries to contact CommCareHQ
to get data about that mobile worker. Unfortunately CommCareHQ is currently
down, so the phone is not receiving the expected response.

We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working urgently to try to get
CommCareHQ back up and running ASAP, and will keep you updated over this
mailing list (see my last post
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/commcare-users/Drt3LueCaZE).

Best,
Amelia

How to solve this problam

(Clayton Sims) #4

Hi Maina,

This problem can arise from either an issue with the local network environment such as a “Captive Portal” on WIFI which requires you to login before using it (which can be tested with the browser).

If you can log into the app you can navigate to

Menu -> Advanced -> Connection Test

which may give you useful debugging information.
