Adding language dialects

An application I am working on needs to have different translations for
each of the 4 regions of operation to allow for regional dialects.

It appears that it was once possible to add "custom" languages to an app,
based on the documentation here:
https://confluence.dimagi.com/display/commcarepublic/Language+configuration+in+CommCareHQ

I http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fula_languagef your language still does
not show up, create a new code and add it. This is not recommended, but is
OK if the language comes up as "unrecognized."

This option is no longer available as the language must be selected from a
list. Is there any way to enter custom language codes like vie1, vie2, vie3
etc?

Thanks for any response.

Thanks for asking !
I was just looking for this feature that I already used in the past...

Where is it now ?

Cheers,

Michel

Hi Michel and Amber,

I see what you mean. We'll look into it and get back to you on whether we
can reinstate that functionality.

Hi Michel and Amber,

This is fixed now: the languages page again allows you to enter custom
language codes as the wiki explains. So "unrecognized" language codes will
work, but "invalid" language codes will not.

We had removed this functionality accidentally. Thank you for bringing it
to our attention, and sorry for the trouble!
